Sophie 5th Birthday pictures..updated.

I took some pictures for Sarah the other day. I was hoping they would be sharper, they seem a little grainy to me which is weird because my ISO was not high. Would you look over them and tell me what you think I might want to add or change. I have a ton but I'll just do a few on here today.

Thanks!

  1. Disclaimer: I'm on my Mama's computer, which shows pics a little differently than mine at home. If my comments don't make sense, lets blame it on the computer not giving me an accurate reading :-)

I think you did a great job! I'm really not seeing any grain on this computer. But I've learned that sometimes grain can enter your photos if you're in the shade and the ISO's are quite high enough or your ss isn't quick enough. Just ONE more thing to think about :-)

The first one is my absolute favorite and will look great blown up and displayed on a wall...on canvas(you should talk Sarah into it)! I would probably sharpen her eyes just a bit more but other than that, well done!! Pics # 2 & 4 shows her personality which all parents LOVE!! # 3 looks slightly blown and may look amazing as a b&w. If you put that pic in lightroom, use your recovery slider to save some of the hot spots (I had to do that with some of my wedding shots). # 4, I love her outfit and the pp makes the shot almost whimsical. Am I seeing a vignette (sp?) on that one? Between # 5 & 6, I personally like #5 the best. The pp on #6 makes the photo washed out (for my taste..but if you like it...go for it!!! The photo is still a great shot!) On the last one, Sophie's face looks a bit soft to me. I can't really tell on my mom's computer but it almost looks like the focus may have fallen on her top??? But I like the sweetness to the photo!

All in all, I think the photos are fabulous and your composition is solid! I know Sarah will be really happy with your pictures!! I haven't met Sophie in person but I think you nailed capturing her essence. I can see her sweet and sometimes sassy personality throughout all your pictures. And that, my friend, is AMAZING!!!

Tell me again, do you have photoshop or elements??

  2. I did a BW on #3 and I'll attach the regular version too. I can't tell if it is just the action I used on it that blew it out or if it was SOOC. I like #5 better to but it seems to lack depth to me. I agree the last one, her face does seem soft. I think I might have caught her knee instead.

I just have elements right now. I want to get lightroom and photoshop but just waiting.

Thanks for checking me out! I hope you guys are having a great time :)
